What’s behind being triggered at the question ‘Are you free/busy? An question asked innocently but having

Is it a traumatic response? A reaction of offense because you’re supposed to always be busy? Busy-ness which in turn was a response to trauma. Trauma that happens to everyone at some point in their lives.

I have to ask myself: am I the drama? Because the question, objectively speaking, bears no malice. Infact, quite the opposite because it speaks to a kind consideration that the enquirer is taking into account if I have the bandwidth to accommodate their ‘mental load’ at the moment.

So I have to ask myself what am I really fighting when I get triggered. I have to remind myself to not bleed on who didn’t cut me. To take into account the concern for my bandwidth which my enquirer is taking into account.

Trauma does have a way of imprinting on one’s mind but our eventual fate is our responsibility indeed. How you deal will also imprint onto others and just like that every enquirer who asks this question. I have to consider the fact that it’s an innocent question
